The Culbertson Museum has paused plans to host a birthday celebration this weekend. According to board member Jill Herness, repairs to the museum meat room are currently underway. A contractor has been approved and will be working on the area over the weekend.

She said plans to hold a celebration will be announced when repairs are completed. Herness said that fundraising efforts for the project are still short more than $3,000. Contact the museum to make a donation.

Herness said the quilt drawing will move forward as planned. She said a recent drive to sell tickets included a mailing to all museum members. She said the direct mail effort will be utilized in the future. She said monies raised on the quilt fundraiser were more than double last year’s totals.

Herness said the Cabin Fever Superbowl fundraiser wasn’t held this year due to the pandemic, but will be a go next January.

Herness pointed out the museum’s “made in Montana” section is open, featuring neck warmers, dish clothes and cross stitch projects created by local residents. She added that pictures of the area from Tammy Fossum are available for purchase. Fossum was assisted by the late Howard Nordmeyer. Proceeds raised on the photos will be donated to the museum in memory of Nordmeyer.

The next board meeting will be Aug. 9 at 10 a.m. For more information, Herness can be reached at 406-787-5283 or 406-787-0247. Sue Houle can be reached at 406-7876120.
