Man Dies In Crash Near Bainville

A North Dakota man died in a vehicle crash that occurred east of Bainville on Tuesday, July 27.

Brennen Bruce Brunelle, 23, of Williston died due to injuries suffered in the crash. He was a former student in Bainville.

According to the Montana Highway Patrol, he was traveling in a Chevrolet pickup eastbound on U.S. Highway 2 when he attempted to pass another pickup near mile maker 662. When the Chevrolet merged back into the eastbound lane, it sideswiped the front of the other pickup.

Brunelle then overcorrected, sending the Chevrolet into a broadside slide before leaving the highway. After rolling several times, the vehicle came to a stop on its wheels. Brunelle was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

The 24-year-old male driver of the other pickup did not suffer any injuries.
