Stone Makes Not Guilty Plea To Firearms Charge
Jerry Allen Stone Jr., aka Joshua Ivan Doefer, 38, of Culbertson appeared in federal court in Billings before U.S. Magistrate Judge Timothy J. Cavan and made a not guilty plea on Friday, Aug. 12.
Stone is facing charges of felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
If convicted of the most serious crime, Stone faces a maximum 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release.
Stone was detained pending further proceedings. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated the case.
According to court documents, on Sept. 4, 2020, Stone knowing he had been convicted on or about Sept. 21, 2016, of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year under the laws of the state of North Dakota, knowingly possessed, in and affecting interstate and foreign commerce, a firearm and ammunition.
