Former Wolf Point Man Facing Charges

Former Wolf Point resident Paul Kermit Gysler, 39, is facing several criminal charges in Flathead County.

The Daily Inter Lake reports that Gysler, now of Bigfork, was arrested on July 30, for violating his terms of release as an alleged incident involving his parents resulted in partner/family member assault charges. Gysler’s father said his son entered the house, was verbally abusive and smashed a chair. After a short foot chase with a deputy, an officer pepper-sprayed Gysler and handcuffed him in a neighbor’s garage.

Previously, on July 17, Gysler was transported to the Flathead County Detention Center after an altercation with a Whitefish police officer. According to court documents, the officer saw Gysler urinating in public near a downtown parking garage. Gysler allegedly resisted arrest by refusing to put his hands behind his back and then pushing away from the officer. After the officer took Gysler to the ground, Gysler fought back and ended up pinning the officer to the ground. The officer used a Taser and a bystander helped subdue Gysler before three other officers assisted in the arrest.
