Bainville’s volleyball squad is looking forward to a successful season in 2021.

The Bulldogs feature nine players this year. Senior leaders include Kaitlyn Adkins and Lakyn Rabbe.

“We’re already ahead of last year,” Bainville coach Kallie Clark said. “I’m really happy with what I’ve seen.”

Sophomores are Brecklyn Pippenger, Kendra Romo, Kaelyn Romo and Hallie Iverson.

“All four of them lettered last year,” Clark said.

Freshmen are Elsie Wilson, Madyson Lesch and Miah Pippenger. Last year’s junior high team lost just one volleyball match and took first place in basketball.

“They are a really competitive group,” Clark said.

The coach notes that all of the girls have worked hard throughout the summer to improve their games.

Cutting down mental errors is a goal for the Bulldogs. “By the end, we will be pretty solid,” Clark said.

As far as height, Bainville features girls in the 5-8 to 5-10 range. “We have some kids that can really jump though,” Clark said.

Weaknesses at this point include inexperience and being consistent good servers.

“They are good athletes, they want to win,” the coach said.

League favorites heading into the season include Plentywood and Froid/ Lake.

The Bulldogs will open their season at the Culbertson Invitational on Saturday, Aug. 28. Bainville’s first home match is against Culbertson on Thursday, Sept. 16.
