Operation Leads To Federal Arrests
The work of several law enforcement agencies led to three arrests on federal warrants in the Fort Peck Reservation on Thursday, Aug. 19.
The goal of the operation to check on sexual or violent offenders on the reservation as well as investigate individuals who were wanted on federal warrants.
The operation included four U.S. marshals, two FBI agents, the Department of Criminal Investigation, the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office, the Fort Peck Tribes and three officers from the Blackfeet Nation. Melvin Clark of the Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office and Bruce Bauer of Fort Peck Tribes helped coordinate the effort.
There were 47 compliance checks of sexual or violent offenders conducted during the two days at the Fort Peck Reservation.
Arrested for various federal warrants were Wyatt Montclair, 27, of Poplar, Leslie Rouillard Jr., 28, of Wolf Point and Jittawee Bearcub, 35, of Poplar.
The three individuals are currently being jailed in the Roosevelt County Detention Center before having federal court dates in Great
Falls.
