Roosevelt County Reports Delta Variant Case

Roosevelt County Health Department received the first positive Delta variant report for a Roosevelt County COVID-19 case on Aug. 26. Delta is highly transmissible and is currently the most common COVID-19 variant circulating in the United States.

The three COVID-19 vaccines available are known to provide significant protection against the Delta variant, especially against hospitalization and death. Clinics are planned for Sept. 2 from 3 to 6 p.m. in Wolf Point, Sept. 9 from 3 to 6 p.m. in Wolf Point, Sept. 16 from 3 to 6 p.m. in Wolf Point and Sept. 23 from 3 to 6 p.m. in Culbertson. Area Statistics

As of Sunday, Aug. 29, Roosevelt County has 32 active cases and no current hospitalizations. There have been 55 COVID-related deaths reported in the county.

As of Monday, Aug. 30, Valley County’s active count was 24 cases. There have been 953 total cases and 18 reported COVID-reported deaths.

Daniels County had zero active cases as of Tuesday, Aug. 31. The county has 196 recovered cases and 204 cumulative cases. Eight deaths have occurred due to COVID-19 and/or complications.

In McCone County, there are seven active cases as of Monday, Aug. 30. There are 191 recovered cases. There have been two COVID-related deaths in the county.

Phillips County has 16 active cases as of Monday, Aug. 30. There have been 544 recovered cases and 17 COVID-related deaths.

For Richland County, there are 44 active cases and 1,278 recovered cases as of Monday, Aug. 30. Total COVID-related deaths are 18. There have been 1,340 total cases.

Statewide

According to Montana health officials, the state’s total number of known cases now stands at 126,338 since the start of the pandemic. There have been 1,617,448 tests conducted.

Around the state, there are 4,822 active cases. There are 223 active hospitalizations. By Monday, Aug. 30, a total of 1,787 deaths have been reported statewide. A total of 119,729 people have recovered.

Though there is no state mask mandate, local jurisdictions may still choose to implement their own mask requirements. Gov. Gianforte emphasized how providing incentives and encouraging personal responsibility are more effective than imposing unenforceable government mandates.

Vaccine Doses

In Roosevelt County, 6,644 total doses have been administered. There have been 3,224 or 38 percent fully immunizations.

As of Monday, Aug. 30, 943,373 total doses have been administered in Montana. There are 462,426 or 50 percent fully immunized Montanans.
