The Wolf People group of Wolf Point High School put up a tipi in front of Wolf Point High School on Tuesday, Sept. 21, as part of Native American Heritage Week.

Advisor Carrie Manning notes that the Indian name for Wolf People is Shunk Togeja Oyalabi. She has served as advisor for the club since 2010 and she said the club has put up a tipi each year in recognition of the special week.

Artist Jackie Bird of South Dakota, who is Manning’s friend, performed the art work on the tipi.

The week was a busy one for Wolf People as the club also organized the pow-wow held on Thursday.
