Teachers Seeing Benefits Of Interactive Program

The Boardworks’ interactive lessons program is benefiting both Wolf Point teachers and their students this school year.
Sarah Chambers, Wolf Point’s curriculum director, explains that lessons are available for all age groups in the essential fields of math, science, English and history. The information is based on academic standards set throughout the nation.
Chambers notes that teachers can click on a lesson plan, and students can follow on their Chromebooks. All students have access to Chromebooks in the Wolf Point School District.
In addition, teachers have guides to help them provide insight for each lesson.
“It’s like a Powerpoint, but it’s interactive,” Chambers explained.
She added that the system is fairly easy for teachers to figure out how implement for their classrooms. Chambers introduced it during a professional development day on one Friday.
“By Monday, we had several teachers up and running with it,” Chambers said. “It’s just a great program and it covers the standards in most of the subjects we offer.”
She has received positive feedback from teachers and administrators. She noted that Northside Elementary School has especially stepped up and took advantage of the program.
“They’re liking it and utilizing it,” Chambers said.
Northside teacher Andrew Tumonong said, “It has a lot of resources for teaching science so I can use it for my lessons.”
He noted the students enjoy that the program is interactive. It has benefited teaching some social studies’ topics. “It’s really helped,” he said.
