Bigleggins Faces Charges In Federal Court

Maynard Wayne Bigleggins, 24, of Wolf Point, appeared in Great Falls before U.S. Magistrate Judge John T. Johnston on Sept. 30, for the charges of sexual assault of a minor and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance to a person under 21 years of age.

If convicted of the most serious crime, Bigleggins faces a mandatory minimum one year to 40 years in prison, a $2 million fine and at least six years of supervised release.

Bigleggins was detained pending further proceedings.

According to court documents, Bigleggins knowingly engaged in a sexual act with a person who had attained the age of 12 but had not yet attained the age of 16 between June 1, 2016, and July 1, 2017, at or near Wolf Point. Bigleggins was more than four years older than the person at the time of his arrest.

He is also charged for knowingly and intentionally being in possession with the intent to distribute a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine to a person under 21 years of age through July 1, 2017.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated the case.
