Red Hawks Advance With Win Over Fairview
The Froid/Lake Red Hawks earned a berth to the divisional tournament by defeating Fairview in a tough match on Saturday, Oct. 30.
The Red Hawks won by a 20-25, 25-17, 22-25, 25-15, 15-10 final.
In the fourth set, a kill by Fairview’s Megan Asbeck cut the margin to 18-14 but Froid/ Lake accounted for the next three points on two kills by Carolyne Christoffersen and a block by Mara Salvevold.
A kill by Jaeleigh Davidson put the Red Hawks up 23-15 and then Froid/Lake tallied the last two points.
In the fifth set, the Red Hawks took a 7-6 lead on two kills by Christoffersen and a tip by Baylee Davidson.
A tip by B. Davidson and a kill by J. Davidson increased the margin to 13-7. Dasani Nesbit scored a kill for a 14-8 advantage.
With the score at 14-10, Froid/Lake ended the match on a kill by Nesbit.
Nesbit led the Red Hawks with 15 kills and seven blocks.
Christoffersen and Salvevold each served two aces.
Aleah Johnson finished with six digs. Meg Ator accounted for 20 assists.
