Humanities Montana Grant Deadlines

Humanities Montana’s deadline for regular and three-year sustaining grants, as well as research fellowships, is Dec. 20. Opportunity grants will continue to be provided with a rolling submission deadline.

Regular grants provide support for requests of over $1,000. Types of projects supported include book festivals, conferences, exhibits, lectures, media projects, museum assistance, oral histories, panel discussions, planning for humanities programs, public debates, reading and discussion programs, workshops, podcasts, and other innovative ideas.

Research fellowships provide a maximum award of up to $4,000. Humanities Montana awards research fellowships to a broad range of scholars, both non-traditional and those affiliated with a university.

All proposals must include a public program component.

Three-year sustaining grants are awarded for projects that require long-term funding. Applicants who have received funding from Humanities Montana in the past may inquire about applying for a three-year sustaining grant for the same project. The number of such grants awarded is extremely limited. Applicants must talk to Humanities Montana staff before applying.

More information and grant guidelines can be found on the relevant grant pages at www.humanitiesmontana. org. Before applying, contact Kim Anderson, the director of programs and grants, at kim.anderson@humanitiesmontana. org or call 406-2436022 with questions about projects and eligibility.
