Culbertson Council Approves Wage Increase, Smart Board
The Culbertson Town Council approved a resolution to increase the advertised wage for the assistant librarian position to $11 per hour. Librarian Leona Colvin attended the meeting to support the request for an increased wage. She shared comparable rates for other assistant librarian positions in the area.
A resolution was also passed to approve approximately $10,000 for a smart board to aid the council in communicating with outof- town groups and individuals during meetings. The board will also be used by the Culbertson Senior Citizens. Seniors president Sharon Matney was on hand to answer questions. She said the organization would be contributing $500 to the cost of the smart board and expressed her thanks.
WWC Engineering’s Jeremy Fadness told the council that drawings and plans for the Culbertson section of the MDT Highway 2 project by the end of November.
Minutes for the Oct. 12 regular meeting and workshop were approved, as were treasurer reports, general journal vouchers, payroll vouchers, utility billing vouchers and October bills.
During the public comment period, Ken Forbregd said a new bridge gate featuring commemorative panels will be installed Nov. 9 at Ike’s Pond. He said vandalism to the solar panels and other features are becoming expensive to replace.
Following the regular meeting, the council held an ordinance review workshop.
The next council meeting is scheduled for Dec. 13 at 6:30 p.m.
