Winter Storm Warning Issued For Holiday Weekend
A winter storm watch has been issued by the National Weather Service - Glasgow for all of northeast Montana as we move into the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
NWS stated, “This will be a significant winter storm event for northeast Montana. Heavy snow, strong winds and a busy travel weekend due to the holiday weekend will lead to major weather-related impacts regionwide this weekend. Light snow will begin as early as late on Wednesday, but the heavy snowfall will arrive in the region late on Friday and last into the early hours of Sunday morning.”
Accumulating snowfall of 8 to 12 inches is forecast for Wolf Point, Vida, Circle and Culbertson areas with more snow forecast for Sidney, Glendive and further south. Estimates for those communities are in the 12 to 18 inches range. Scobey and Plentywood could see 6 to 8 inches, while Opheim is forecast to get up to 6 inches.
