Froid/Lake Splits Against MonDak
The Froid-Lake Red Hawks jumped out to a 32-11 halftime advantage and downed MonDak, 65-28, to open their boys’ basketball season on Friday, Dec. 3.
The Red Hawks led 18-7 at the end of the first quarter. Froid/Lake enjoyed a 53-17 advantage after three quarters of play.
Reaching double figures for the Red Hawks were Patton Bighorn with 14 points, Javonne Nesbit with 12, Mason Dethman with 11 and Brett Stentoft with 11.
Also scoring were Tyler Wivholm with six, Daniel Forizs with four, Nate Stentoft with four and Connor Huft with three.
Erik Field scored 12 points to lead the Thunder. Thomas Arnson and Carson Solberg added six points each.
In the girls’ contest, Mon-Dak earned a 56-38 victory.
The Thunder led 15-7 at the end of the first quarter and by a 32-17 half-time margin.
Carolyne Christoffersen scored 11 points to lead Froid/Lake. Also scoring were Baylee Davidson with seven, Brooklynn Nordwick with seven, Meg Ator with five, Dasani Nesbit with four and Mara Salvevold with four.
Elizabeth Field accounted for 24 points to lead the Thunder. Kiarra Brunelle finished with 15 points and Erika Christian added nine points.
