Man Charged With Theft, Criminal Mischief
Daniel David Aakre is facing three felony charges including two counts of theft.
Along with the counts of thefts, he has been charged with criminal mischief.
He is scheduled to make his initial appearance in district court on Jan. 12.
The first count of theft claims that, on Oct. 5, he purposely or knowingly obtained or exerted unauthorized control over property belonging to Marathon Petroleum Company. The property was a 2019 Ford F350 XL SuperCab.
The second count of theft charges that, on Oct. 5, Aakre purposely or knowingly obtained or exerted unauthorized control over property or knowingly obtained or exerted unauthorized control over property belonging to Marathon Petroleum Company. The property included laptops, meters and tools.
Penalties for the theft charges are 10 years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both.
The criminal mischief charge pertains to Aakre allegedly spray painting the Ford F350 XL SuperCab.
If convicted of the criminal mischief charge, Aakre faces 10 years in prison, a $50,000 fine or both.
