Sears, Eymard Win State Championship

Wolf Point High School students Daniel Sears and Del Eymard brought home gold from the Montana State B/C Speech and Drama Meet held Jan. 28-29 in Huntley.

A total of 244 competitors from 53 B and C schools from across the state took part in the state meet, making for some great competition.

Sears and Eymard emerged triumphant as state champions in humorous theater.

Wolf Point’s Ryan Schumacher competed in humorous solo and placed 15th.

Overall, Wolf Point placed fifth in Class B Drama.

Wolf Point speech and drama coach Wendy Connelley expressed appreciation to Huntley’s coaches, administration and staff for hosting a great competition. She also expressed the team’s gratitude for all of the support they have felt from their fans. Eric Peterson for joined the team at state and learned what speech and drama competition looks like.

The team was met by a contingent of fans on their way back into Wolf Point Sunday where they found that their vehicles had been decorated.
