Damon Keeps Active Playing For Wolves

Wolf Point High School senior Shastin Damon likes being involved with the school’s successful sports programs.
In fact, the two-sport athlete plans to add even another sport this spring.
“It will be my first year and I guess my last year,” Damon laughed about his upcoming track career.
He plans to compete in weight events and maybe the 100-meter dash.
Even though friend Kholby Spotted Wolf talked him into trying track, Damon said he will not join Spotted Wolf in running the tough long distance events. Damon’s senior campaign has been solid ones for both football and basketball.
He played tight end and defensive end for the Wolves’ football squad.
“I mainly protected the quarterback,” Damon said of his role.
The senior is contributing in a strong way for the Wolves’ basketball team this year.
“Things are going pretty good,” Damon said. “The coaches are teaching me a lot about the game.”
He has goals to reach for the rest of this season.
“As a team, I obviously want to get to State,” he said.
His personal goal is to dunk during a game.
As far as classes, his favorites include wood shop, weight training and English.
Projects during wood class have been making tables, wood burns and shoe racks.
He says the shoe racks come in handy. “I have a lot of shoes,” he laughed.
Damon lists his favorite teachers as Douglas Evans, R.C. Page and John Gardner. Damon said Page helped him with wood projects and football while Gardner has taught him a lot about fitness.
After graduating from high school, Damon plans to attend Dawson Community College in Glendive.
