Red Hawks Defeat Savage Squads

The Froid/Lake Red Hawks cruised to a 46-17 conference win over Savage in boys’ basketball action on Friday, Jan. 28.
The Red Hawks led 8-2 at the end of the first quarter and by a 16-4 half-time margin. Javonne Nesbit scored six points in the first half.
Froid/Lake increased the gap to 27-10 during the third quarter. Tyler Wivholm connected on a three-pointer during the period.
Mason Dethman led the Red Hawks with 11 points for the game. Also scoring were Patton Bighorn with eight, Nesbit with six, Conner Huft with six, Wivholm with five, Brett Stentoft with five, Landen Kelm with two and Bode Miller with two.
Caesn Erickson scored six points to lead the Warriors. Sterling Thiel and Zane Pugeram added four points each.
In the girls’ game, Froid/ Lake won by a 37-31 final.
After a 9-9 deadlock at the end of the first quarter, Savage led by a 19-16 half-time margin.
Froid/Lake gained a 26-23 lead in the third quarter en route to the victory.
Top scorers for the Red Hawks were Dasani Nesbit with 12 and Carolyne Christoffersen with 10 points.
Also scoring were Baylee Davidson with seven, Brooklyn Nordwick with five and Mara Salvevold with three.
Leading Savage were Brooke Reuter and Karley McPherson with 10 points each. Also scoring were Taylor Conradsen with five, Teah Conradsen with four and Cambry Conradsen with two.
