Bainville Girls Lose Against Wildcats

Bainville’s girls’ basketball squad couldn’t quite recover from a slow start and fell at home, 33-23, against Circle on Saturday, Feb. 5.
The Wildcats, on the scoring of Alexis Moline, jumped out to a 12-2 advantage and held a 15-7 advantage at the end of the opening quarter.
Moline opened the second period with a 17-footer, but Bainville responded on a drive by Elsie Wilson and a free throw by Kaitlyn Adkins.
Circle, however, held a 21-10 half-time advantage.
In a low-scoring third quarter, the Bulldogs were able to pull to 22-15 on free throws by Lakyn Rabbe and Wilson.
After two baskets by Wilson brought Bainville as close as six points, Circle’s Moline connected on a three-pointer for a 29-22 margin midway into the final period.
Tally Berwick scored off a pass from Wilson to cut the gap to 29-23, but free throws by Sierra Nagle and an inside basket by Grace Gackle put the contest away for the Wildcats.
Wilson led the Bulldogs with 14 points.
Also scoring for Bainville were T. Berwick with six, Rabbe with two and Adkins with one point.
Moline finished with 18 points. Scoring four points each for Circle were Kayli Haynie, Gackle and Curtiss.
The Bulldogs will host MonDak on Friday, Feb. 11, and head to Culbertson on Saturday, Feb. 12.
