The Froid/Lake Red Hawks rolled into the district championship game by posting a 72-20 boys’ basketball victory over Richey/Lambert on Friday, Feb. 18.

The Red Hawks jumped out to a 24-2 advantage in the contest’s first quarter.

Froid/Lake accounted for 26 points in the second quarter for a 50-10 advantage. Top scorers for the first half were Mason Dethman with 10, Brett Stentoft with 10, Javonne Nesbit with eight, Bode Miller with eight and Tyler Wivholm with eight.

Despite a running clock, the Red Hawks added 18 points in the third quarter for a 68-18 margin.

Reaching double figures for the game were Wivholm with 12, B. Stentoft with 12 and Dethman with 10.

Also scoring were Payton Bighorn with nine, Nesbit with nine, Miller with eight, Connor Huft with three, Ashdyn Hobbs with three, Nate Stentoft with two, Max Engelke with two and Austin Hobbs with two.

B. Stentoft accounted for six rebounds. Ashdyn Hobbs and Nesbit each had two steals.

The Red Hawks hit eight three-pointers including three by Bighorn and two by Wivholm.

The largest lead for the Red Hawks was 57 points.

Scoring for the Fusion were Nick Engesser with six, Joshua Sponheim with four, Brett Mullin with three, Ryan Eggert with three, Grady Gonsioroski with two and Tiegen Cundiff with two.
