Kirn Repeats As Wrestling Champion


Roosevelt County native Amaiya Kirn repeated as a state champion at the allclass girls’ wrestling state meet in Billings on Saturday, Feb. 12.
Kirn is a sophomore who wrestles for the Sidney Eagles.
Kirn pinned Lily Schultz of Gallatin in 2:41 for the championship at 126 pounds.
She finished the season with a 47-1 record.
Sidney tied for 10th place in the team standings. Kern was the girls’ team’s only state champion. Keela Kary placed second at 120 pounds.
As a freshman, Kirn won the state championship at 120 pounds in the first ever Montana girls’ state wrestling meet.
