Granbois Appreciates Music, Science In Culbertson
Gabrielle “Gabby” Granbois is a senior who appreciates a good sound at Culbertson High School.
Granbois is one of the top members in Culbertson’s band program. She has been playing the tenor saxophone since the fifth grade.
“It’s always been the instrument that I’ve wanted to play,” Granbois said.
She, however, is talented enough to play several other instruments including the flute, clarinet and ukulele.
As a freshman, Granbois was part of Culbertson’s small group that earned a superior rating during the state music festival.
She looks forward to competing at the district music festival this April.
In addition, she has been a member of Culbertson’s school choir throughout her high school career.
“I like being part of a vocal ensemble,” Granbois explained.
After not competing in track since her junior high days, she will participate in the sport this spring. She expects her events to include the shot put, discus and 1600-meter run.
She enjoys working at The Perkulator in Poplar.
“It’s very popular and fast paced,” Granbois said. “I don’t like when things are slow, it’s not my vibe.”
Her favorite subjects in school are science classes.
Favorite teachers include Paula Schledewitz, Jennesy Taberna and Dave Solem.
After high school, Granbois plans to earn her associates degree from Fort Peck Community College. She then hopes to study biological engineering or biomedical engineering.
