Galaviz Sentenced For Two Offenses
Amos Ryker Galaviz changed his plea to guilty on two charges in district court on Wednesday, March 16.
Galaviz made guilty pleas to criminal possession of dangerous drugs and negligent endangerment.
He admitted to being in possession of 1.843 grams of meth in Roosevelt County on Jan. 6, 2022. He also admitted to driving 130 miles per hour on that date.
After a high speed pursuit in Sheridan and Roosevelt counties, Amos Galaviz was arrested in Culbertson on Jan. 6. According to law enforcement, the suspect fled in a vehicle at a high speed from Montana Highway Patrol. Speed was around 100 miles per hour from Reserve to Culbertson.
Based on a plea agreement, district judge David J. Cybulski gave Galaviz a four-year suspended sentence and fined him $1,000.
Roosevelt County Attorney Frank Piocos noted there are seven warrants, including one federal warrant, out on Galaviz.
Amaris Mariscal-Walking Eagle was sentenced by Cybulski in district court on Wednesday, March 16.
Based on a plea agreement, Mariscal-Walking received a two-year suspended sentence and was fined $1,000 for criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
David Daniel Aakre decided to defend himself in his case. He is facing three felony charges including two counts of theft.
Trial date was scheduled for June 16.
