Red Hawks To Open Track Season On April 1

The Froid/Lake Red Hawks enter the track season with a new coach and a turnout of 13 athletes.
Elina Clark, the program’s new head coach, said she has hoped to help with the track team for quite some time.
“I’ve been wanting to, but I had four kids at home. Now with three of them in school, I have a little more time,” Clark said.
The Red Hawks’ roster includes nine boys and three girls.
Carolyne Christoffersen returns after earning fifth place at the state meet in the shot put. The junior took fourth in the shot put and fifth in the javelin at last year’s divisional meet.
Also returning is senior Javonne Nesbit who earned second place in the triple jump at the divisional meet last season.
Max Engelke is back after placing fourth in the 400 at the divisional meet and also being part of a strong relay team.
Daniel Forizs was solid in the sprints last year and is anticipated to have a strong sophomore season. The Red Hawks are also looking for Cian Logan and Xavier Gregor to have good seasons.
Both Caden Kelm and Landen Kelm have been contributors in other sports for the Red Hawks and should score this track season.
Freshmen Joseph Robertson and Roberto Orozco enjoyed good junior high careers and should benefit the high school squad this season.
Makaylee Elvsaas should be solid in weight events for Froid/Lake’s girls. The abilities of Elise Logan and Kadence Harnandez should also benefit the Red Hawks.
The Red Hawks will open their season in Glasgow on Friday, April 1.
