The Culbertson Cowboys earned third place and the Cowgirls took fifth in the girls’ standings during the Richey/Lambert track meet held in Lambert on Thursday, April 7.

The Cowboys accounted for 53 points. The top two teams at the meet were Plentywood with 105 and Richey/Lambert with 71 points.

The Cowgirls scored 55 points. The top three teams were Plentywood with 144, Savage with 70 and Fairview with 64 points.

Earning first for the Cowboys was the 400-meter relay team of Wyatt Snyder, Bridger Salvevold, Reese Moon and Payton Perkins with a time of 49.59 seconds.

Kyler Kempton had a solid meet as he placed second in the shot put at 39-11, third in the discus at 122-03 and fifth in the javelin at 130-8.

Salvevold finished second in the 100 with a time of 11.81 seconds and placed fifth in the 400 at 59.64 seconds.

Colin Avance earned third in the shot put at 39-04 and fourth in the discus at 114-03.

Aiden Perkins took fourth in the shot put at 39-03 and sixth in the discus at 110-04.

Culbertson’s 1600-meter team of James Kirkaldie, Mathew Wadsworth, Salvevold and Mark Kirkaldie finished fifth at 4:39.28.

Other Cowboys in the top 10 included Justice Bengochea at seventh in the shot put, Moon at seventh in the long jump, J. Kirkaldie at eighth in the high jump, Kobe Nickoloff at eighth in the javelin and ninth in the discus, P. Perkins at eighth in the shot put, Zachary O’Neill at seventh in the 3200, Salvevold at eighth in the 200 and Snyder at ninth in the 100.

Kayli Olson led the Cowgirls by taking second in the 1600 at 6:30.24 and second in the 3200 at 14:32.98.

Megan Granbois cleared 5-0 for second place in the high jump.

Culbertson finished second in the 1600-meter relay with a time of 5:11.17 and third in the 400-meter relay at 58.67 seconds.

Destiny Thompson placed second in the javelin with a best of 86-06.

Placing sixth were Autumn Bergum with a time of 14.04 seconds in the 100, Alicyn Ator with a mark of 80-3 in the javelin and Serenity Wilbanks at 4:05.20 in the 800.

Also finishing in the top 10 were Ator at ninth in the shot put, Granbois at ninth in the 200 and 10th in the javelin, Thompson at eighth in the discus and Perla Burciaga at ninth in the discus.
