Drew Sentenced In District Court

Weldon Drew was sentenced in district court on Wednesday, April 13, for the charge of criminal distribution of dangerous drugs by accountability.

Based on a joint plea agreement, Drew received a deferred imposition of sentence of two years. He was also fined $1,000. He received credit for 104 days served on his sentence.

During his change of plea hearing, Drew admitted that between July 31, 2021, and Aug. 7, 2021, he was in communication with another person as he tried to obtain drugs for himself and others.

District judge David J. Cybulski told Drew, “Don’t do anything where people will look and say how stupid you are.”

In another hearing on Wednesday, April 13, Christian Alexander Perez made a plea of not guilty to the charge of criminal possession of dangerous drugs.

An omnibus hearing was scheduled for June 15. A trial was scheduled for Aug. 11.

Last September, Perez was sentenced for two felony charges in district court. For the count of possession of dangerous drugs with the intent to distribute, Cybulski sentenced Perez to a four-year deferred sentence. For the count of possession of dangerous drugs, Perez received a four-year suspended sentence. The sentences were to run concurrently.
