Wolf Point High School student Jayme Martell is working toward her future during her busy senior year.

Her school schedule features four dual credit classes including public speaking, statistics and college composition.

“I really want to get a head start on my college courses,” Martell explained.

Her plan is to finish her general studies at Fort Peck Community College and earn a degree in business administration. She then wants to study cosmetology at one of the academies in Billings.

“I want to do it all,” Martell said of her future career in the beauty field. “I have an open mind for everything in that field.”

During her time at Wolf Point High School, she enjoyed her involvement with the Power Rangers, a student/ community involvement organization. “I think it’s fun for the students. It’s a good way to give back to the community,” she said.

She liked activities such as having a scavenger hunt and making cookies at Southside School.

“It’s bringing positivity to students,” Martell said. “I’m feel happy helping others.”

Her school involvement included being active with music for five years where she played the saxophone and “tried various other instruments.”

Her favorite classes are college composition and government, both with instructor Douglas Evans.

“He challenges us enough so he always makes it fun,” Martell said.

Her favorite teachers are Tiffani Darby, Evans and Dan Horsmon.

“This year has been one of my favorite years,” Martell said.

She has attended classes in Wolf Point throughout her education.

“I like the small town feeling where everybody knows everybody,” Martell said. “It’s nice when people truly care about you.”
