Landsrud Selected As TeenVax Challenge Winner

Health Department Offers Critical Vaccinations

Wolf Point’s Rebekah Landsrud was the winner of a $50 Amazon gift card for being current with vaccines for 11- to 17-year-olds recommended by the Center for Disease Control.

Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis), MCV4 (a meningococcal vaccine) and HPV (Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine) are recommended for this age group.

Research continues to identify several types of cancer caused by HPV in both females and males. Also, 11to 14-year-olds have a better response to the vaccine and only require two doses instead of three for protection from HPV.

These vaccinations are available at the Roosevelt County Health Department.

The TeenVax contest will take shape again next summer. If you are between 11-17 years of age and are current on the recommended immunizations, you could be the next winner.
