Glentana Sees Direct Hit
The National Weather Service in Glasgow released the results of a storm survey confirming an Enhanced Fujita (EF) 2 tornado in Glentana July 18.
The text of the survey reads: “On July 18, the town of Glentana took a direct hit from an EF-2 tornado.”
EF ratings assess tornadoes on a scale from zero to five.
Maximum winds of 120 mph were recorded during the event. The track of the tornado was listed as eight miles in length. The width was recorded as 457 yards.
Farm outbuildings and machinery were destroyed, according to the survey, as were several grain hopper bins, multiple spruce trees and the roof of at least one home.
No injuries or fatalities were reported.
