Berquist Earns Honor In Richland County
Caleb Berquist earned allaround cowboy recognition at the Richland County Fair’s PRCA rodeo held Aug. 4-5. He earned $1,040 in tie-down roping and team roping.
Shane Proctor was the winner in bull riding with a score of 74 points on Brookman Rodeo’s Lead Base Paint.
Trenton Montero scored 85 points in bareback riding on Brookman Rodeo’s Famous Dex for top honors. Leighton Berry was a close second with 84.5 points. Tristan Hansen took third with 81.5 points. Tying for fourth with 80 points each were Ty Breuer and Mason Clement.
In steer wrestling, Tanner Milan had a time of 3.6 seconds for first place. Cyler Dowling placed second at 3.9 seconds. Will Powell and Kyle Whitaker tied for third at 4.0. Logan Lemmel placed fifth at 4.2 seconds. Jesse Brown was sixth at 4.5 and Reed Kraeger took seventh at 4.6.
Tanner Butner took top honors with 89 points on Brookman Rodeo’s Kid Rock in saddle bronc riding. Sage Newman placed second at 88.5. Chase Brook took third at 86.5. Tying for fourth with 86s were Layton Green, Logan Hay and Jake Watson.
Tying for first in team roping with times of 6.1 seconds were Shawn Bird and Zachary Schweigert along with Brenten Hall and Chase Tryan. Payton Pirrung and Macon Bice finished third at 7.1. Rio Nutter and Tracer Olson took fourth at 7.4. Jade Schmidt and Jade Nelson were fifth at 7.7.
Shane Hanchey earned first in tie-down roping with a time of 9.3 seconds. Clint Kindred finished second at 9.6 seconds. Bode Scott took third at 9.7, Myles Kenzy placed fourth at 10.1, Chase Lako took fifth at 10.6 and Ty Hedrick was sixth at 10.7.
Erin Williams finished first in barrel racing at 17.28 seconds. Britteny Barnett earned second at 17.34 and Shausta Blodgett took third at 17.37. Summer Kosel finished fourth at 17.39, Lisa Lockart took fifth at 17.4 and Alicia Bird was sixth at 17.43. Rounding out the top 10 were Tisha Larsen at 17.55, Lana Tibbetts at 17.56, Kristi Steffes at 17.57 and Trista Hovde at 17.6.
