Bearcubs Look For Improvements This Volleyball Campaign

With many returning players, the Frazer volleyball team looks to continue to improve this season.
“We have a lot back from last year,” coach Cody Larson said. “We’re still pretty young.”
The players for the Bearcubs include Angel Nelligan, Shakira Beston, Audrey Smoker, Isabelle Even, Baily Beston, Lianna Jackson, Tacoa Old Person and Lola Romero.
Jackson is the lone senior on the squad.
“We do hustle,” Larson said. “If we can hustle and fly around the ball, we can crawl out a win or two.”
The coach, who is assisted by Krysten Miller, feels the Bearcubs are smart and athletic.
“We just have to put them in a volleyball mindset,” Larson said. “I like some of the things that we do. We need to take it one step at a time.”
Returning starters include Nelligan, S. Beston and Smoker.
“We have some talented kids,” Larson said. “I think we could surprise somebody.”
He expects the top teams in the league to include North Country, Plentywood, Fairview and Scobey.
“I feel it you give energy and effort, you have a chance,” Larson said.
