MDT Proposes To Restore State Secondary Route 511 To Gravel Surface North Of Whitetail
The Montana Department of Transportation encourages the public to comment on a proposal to restore about seven miles of Secondary 511, north of Whitetail, to a gravel surface The project begins north of Second Avenue, at reference post 6.7 and extends north for 7.1 miles ending at the Whitetail Port of Entry, reference post 13.8.
Proposed work includes pulverizing the existing surface and adding additional gravel surfacing. The purpose of the project is to return the paved roadway to a gravel surface and place route maintenance and permitting into Daniels County’s jurisdiction.
A target construction date will be determined upon completion of all project development activities and availability of funding. No new right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
