Yellowstone Newspapers Sold To Bozeman Chronicle Parent Company
Bozeman Daily Chronicle
parent company Adams Publishing Group is purchasing Yellowstone Newspapers, publishers of more than a dozen Montana newspapers, including the Glendive Ranger Review and Miles City Star.
According to an agreement announced Oct. 23, longtime YN head John Sullivan reached an agreement with APG CEO Mark Adams Oct. 21. The sale is expected to close Nov. 1.
The purchase will not include Yellowstone’s Miles City radio station, KATL, or Star Printing Co. and Office Supply. YN has been in busyness since 1965 when it purchased the Miles City Star.
APG, which currently publishes the Chronicle and the Belgrade News, will add 13 daily, weekly and twice-weekly publications to their holdings in the state.
The other papers being purchased by Adams, which is based in Minneapolis, Minn., are the Livingston Enterprise, the Lewistown News-Argus, the Dillon Tribune, the Big Timber Pioneer, the Laurel Outlook, the Carbon County News, the Big Horn County News, the Stillwater County News, the Terry Tribune, the [Forsyth] Independent Press and the Judith Basin Press.
Altogether, APG operates 27 daily and 90 non-daily publications in 19 states.
