Irwin Retires From Highway Patrol

Lt. Lawrence Irwin retired from the Montana Highway Patrol on May 31, after 31½ years of service to the Patrol.

His initial station assignment was Wolf Point. He was promoted to sergeant on Jan. 29, 2000, and was the Wolf Point detachment commander.

In April 2002, he transferred to Helena to work on the executive protection detail. He transferred to the Helena Detachment commander position in October 2002.

On Dec. 9, 2006, he assumed the Fleet and Supply section supervisor position.

His promotion to lieutenant was Jan. 15, 2011, and he became the assistant operation commander at headquarters.
