Lady Wolves Play Well In Tournament
Wolf Point’s volleyball team opened its season with a strong showing at the Choteau tournament during the weekend.
“We played a lot of teams really well who make frequent state showings,” Wolf Point coach Karli McGowan said. “We battled back from score deficits and everyone on the court worked hard for each point.”
During round one, the Wolves defeated Simms, 40-37. Close defeats came against Ennis, 34-36, Shelby, 31-42, and Broadwater, 28-37.
During the second round, Wolf Point downed Glasgow, 42-25, and Three Forks, 38-37. The Wolves fell to Shelby, 2642, and Ennis, 42-29.
Wolf Point opened round three by defeating Simms, 4222, and Glasgow, 41-39. The Wolves then lost to Choteau, 37-42, and Florence, 37-42.
“Kylie Rodenberg is running the floor super well on offense as the solo setter,” McGowan said. “Sierra Hamilton is playing all the way around and is doing some strong back-row attacks, which is a big change from last year.”
The Wolves will head to Harlem on Thursday, Aug. 31, and Baker on Saturday, Sept. 2. Wolf Point hosts Fairview on Saturday, Sept. 9.
