Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 92 calls from Sept. 17-24. Anyone cited or arrested is presumed innocent. The calls included: Sept. 17
A deputy stopped a 2005 Dodge Journey from Washington at 10 a.m. and gave the driver a written warning for speeding.
A deputy stopped a vehicle at 10:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 2 mile marker 658 and gave the driver a written warning for speeding.
A deputy stopped a vehicle at 11:25 a.m. from Alberta, Canada, and gave the driver a written warning for speeding.
The sheriff’s office assisted the Wolf Point Police Department after a complaint of a disturbance on Granville Street in Wolf Point. The suspect couldn’t be located.
A deputy responded to the Roosevelt Medical Center in Culbertson to assist an individual who accidentally locked handcuffs on a wrist. The Culbertson Fire Department was called to cut off the handcuffs.
The sheriff’s office responded after a caller said she heard a gunshot fired in a field near Idaho Street in Wolf Point. Officers didn’t encounter any persons.
Sept. 18
A deputy responded to a burglary complaint in the airport addition in Poplar. Dog bites were reported to animal control.
Sept. 19
The sheriff’s office assisted in the arrest of Jared Weeks-Comb on tribal warrants. He was transported to the tribal jail in Poplar.
Sept. 20
The sheriff’s office assisted city police on Main Street in Wolf Point after a female reported an assault by her boyfriend.
Sept. 21
A deputy assisted tribal police in downtown Poplar for an unauthorized civilian driving a tribal police vehicle. Law enforcement stopped the vehicle. Tests show that Angelo Boyd’s blood alcohol content was above the legal limit.
A deputy responded to a report at the Cenex West in Wolf Point about the behavior of a male by the fuel pumps. Weldon Drew was arrested for disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sept. 22
A deputy assisted the Wolf Point Police Department with a woman who was passed out behind the Albertson’s store. She was taken to Trinity Hospital and then to tribal jail in Poplar.
Sept. 23
A deputy assisted the Wolf Point Police Department for a male passed out on his driveway. He was taken to Trinity Hospital and then to tribal jail in Poplar.
Sept. 24
The sheriff’s office responded after tribal police requested assistance with a male suspected on driving under the influence of intoxicants. Deputies assisted in a DUI investigation. Tribal police charged Brandon Martell with DUI and took him to tribal jail.
A deputy helped with the removal of an adult male from a residence.
