Cannabis Sales Increase In County, State
Sales for cannabis appear to be steadily increasing both in Roosevelt County and the entire state of Montana.
According to the Montana Department of Revenue, sales during August in Roosevelt County was $407,433. The amount includes $327,335 for adult use sales and $80,098 for medical.
The total translates to $13,143 spent daily in the county on cannabis.
In comparison, Roosevelt County’s total sales were $344,183 during July. Total sales were $318,791 in June.
There are eight dispensaries in Roosevelt County.
For a second quarter payment, Roosevelt County received $13,324 in a local option tax payment. The county receives 3 percent for both adult-use and medical use sales through the local option tax payment.
Richland County’s total for cannabis sales during August was $965,296. The county’s total sales in July were $932,061. Total sales in June were $857,804.
Valley County’s total sales in August was $158,322.
Sales have also steadily increased throughout the state.
After a slight decrease to $25,817,355 in April, sales have increased each month. Sales were $26,096,828 in May, $26,935,335 in June, $28,552,001 in July and $28,697,312 in August.
Total sales since cannabis became legal in January 2022 for Montana are $516,237,988.
