Dana Eugene Gunderson, 70, of Plentywood died Nov. 2, 2023.

He was born April 25, 1953, to John and Elsie (Graham) Gunderson. The third oldest of eight children, he grew up in Plentywood.

On Aug. 22, 1979, he married Joan (Lizotte) and, together, they raised their family in Montana and later in Kansas. While in Kansas, he successfully ran his own business until he and Joan decided to return home to Montana to retire with their youngest son and his family. It was during one of their trips home, while in the process of moving back that he and Joan were in a car accident where Joan lost her life and things for him were never the same. He struggled for years since then with his health as well as having to grieve his wife.

He is survived by his children, Yvonne Brien, Rodney Sandmeier, John Manning, and Jo Lynn Voth; numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; and brothers, Allen, David and Jimmy.

His family really helped out in his time of need, from his sisters Nadine and Brenda taking care of him after his accident to his brother Jimmy after them and then his niece and nephew, Michelle and Michael, when the above three were no longer able to, showing exactly how much he meant to them all.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; daughter, Patricia; siblings, John, Nadine, Brenda and Arthur.

Memorial services were held Friday, Nov. 10, at the Fulkerson Memorial Chapel in Plentywood. His cremated remains were interred with his wife at the Medicine Lake Cemetery.
