Wolf Point’s Beston Wins Title In Glasgow
Wolf Point’s wrestlers went to the 28th annul Scottie this weekend and before that were at home for a mixer.
Joli Beston, John Williams were the team’s seniors. “Jon didn’t wrestle due to an injury and Joli had one match with a girl from Circle. Joli wrestled well and made a mistake,” Wolf Point Coach Scott Vandall said.
Kai Villaluz and Jeina Reum wrestled for the Wolves. “This was Kai’s first match, she did OK. She was nervous,” Vandall said.
Kasey Reed got a win against a Poplar wrestler. “Kasey is coming back from injury. Jesse Reed wrestled a Circle kid and was a good match. Jesse was pretty much in control, made a mistake,” Vandall said.
Xander Hoffman is also a first-year wrestler that competed. “He is really green and good things are going to happen,” Vandall said. “Reilly Rees wrestled a kid from Poplar and won. It was a great. Reilly works hard and give us everything we ask for. Mike Bell had a match with a Poplar kid and won. It was a fun night at home.”
At the Glasgow meet, Vandall said Beston wrestled well and she is getting her old aggressive self.
“She won her second Glasgow title. She went out and wrestled hard,” Vandall said.
Jeina Reum wrestled good and finished in second. “She just made one little mistake,” Vandall said.
J. Reed finished in fifth. Bell also finished fifth. “He had some great matches. The experience level is beating him right now,” Vandall said.
Villaluz and Hoffman each showed improvement in Glasgow.
The Wolves will head to Fort Benton and Great Falls this weekend.
