Poplar Girls Beat Cowgirls
Poplar’s girls’ basketball team controlled the first half and downed Culbertson, 8551, in Poplar on Tuesday, Dec. 5.
The Indians took a 27-13 advantage in the first quarter and increased the gap to 5027 at the half.
Poplar held a 71-36 lead after three quarters of play.
Top scorers for the Indians were Mattie Falls Down with 17, Kessie Erickson with 16, Cammie Martell with 16 and Brealyn Nordwick with 12 points. C. Martell hit four three-pointers.
Bailey Dupree and Riki Belton added eight points each.
Destiny Thompson scored 26 points and fired in four three-pointers to lead Culbertson.
Leandra Perkins finished with nine points.
Also scoring were Mariana Burciaga with six and Payton Labatte, Ayden Ator with four, Payton Labatte with four and Emma Berwick with two points.
