Escarcega Wins Title In Bozeman

Poplar’s Angelina Escarcega claimed the title in the girls’ division during the Bozeman Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 6.

Escarcega pinned Billings Skyview’s Hannah Leonard in 52 seconds in the championship match at 107 pounds. Her four other victories also came by falls.

Alara Parshall earned four victories including three by pins at 114 pounds during the tournament.

In the boys’ tournament, Navarjo Escarcega placed second at 138 pounds. He dropped a 9-2 decision against Great Falls’ Gage Clothier in the title match. Escarcega won four matches including one on a pin.

Poplar’s Mickey Falling won one match at 120 pounds. Rollen Spotted Bull earned a victory at 285 pounds.
