Indians Earn Honors At Choteau Invitational
The Poplar Indians came away with awards from the Choteau Invitational held on Friday, Jan. 12.
Navarjo Escarcega won top honors at 138 pounds. He pinned Harlem’s Delane Lamere in 1:03 for the title.
Poplar’s Rollen Spotted Bird earned second at 285 pounds. He won his first two matches on pins during the tournament.
Craig Berg placed third at 170 pounds. Berg pinned Cascade’s Rial McGregor in the third-place match.
Mickey Falling earned fourth at 120 pounds. He won three matches on pins.
Zane Dupree took fifth at 160 pounds. Travis Pribernow placed sixth at 170 pounds. Jaycee Feuerherm took sixth at 120 pounds. Nick Diserly was sixth at 138 pounds.
In the girls’ division, Alara Parshall won the title and Blake Folette placed second at 114 pounds. Parshall edged Folette, 5-4, in the title match. Each girl won their semi-final round match on a pin.
