Red Hawks Lose In Double Overtime
The Froid/Lake Red Hawks lost in double overtime against Savage, 70-60, during District 2C boys’ basketball action on Tuesday, Jan. 16.
The Red Hawks fell behind by an 11-10 margin in the first quarter and 22-19 at the half. Savage struck for 13 points in the third quarter to increase their advantage to 22-19.
Froid/Lake fought back with 26 points in the fourth quarter to pull even at 53-53. Mason Dethman accounted for 15 points in the period.
Each squad scored five points in the first overtime period. Froid/Lake’s points came on a three-pointer by Landon Kelm and a hoop by Dethman. Zane Pilgeram scored three points for Savage.
The Warriors outscored Froid/Lake by a 12-2 margin in the second overtime. Sayer Erickson scored five of Savage’s points.
Top scorers for the Red Hawks were Dethman with 29 and Nate Stentoft with 11 points. Also scoring were Kelm with nine, Joseph Robertson with four, Daniel Forizs with four and Cody Olson with a three-pointer.
Leading Savage were Erickson with 25, Pilgeram with 17 and Hunter Sanders with 16 points.
