Froid/Lake Splits Games With Fusion

Froid/Lake’s boys’ basketball team accounted for 27 points in the first quarter and defeated Richey/Lambert, 6127, on Friday, Feb. 9.

The Red Hawks gained a 27-7 lead in the opening quarter. Mason Dethman scored 14 points in the period.

Froid/Lake led 44-13 at the half. Landon Kelm tallied six points in the quarter.

Top scorers for the Red Hawks were Dethman with 18, Kelm with 11 and Nate Stentoft with 10 points.

Also scoring were Daniel Forizs with seven, Rylan Young with five, Joseph Robertson with four, Eduardo Orozco with four and Cody Olson with two.

Austin Lien scored 10 points for the Fusion.

In the girls’ game, the Fusion fought off Froid/Lake by a 43-37 final.

The game was deadlocked at 19-19 at the half, but the Fusion gained a 34-30 advantage in the third quarter.

Scoring for the Red Hawks were Addison Elvsaas with nine, Isabelle Nordwick with nine, Brooklyne Nordwick with eight, Mara Salvevold with six, Joelle Davidson with three and Jaeleigh Davidson with two.

Leading the Fusion were Keira Rains with 13 and Brie Mullin with 11 points.
