The Wolf Point 100 Club board of directors thank their supporters during the organization’s 44th annual meeting held at First Lutheran Church in Wolf Point on Sunday, Jan. 28.

Board president Cindy Hanks announced that the club received $23,997.71 in receipts during 2023. It’s the highest mark since $31,869.81.

The 100 Club has raised $731,406.42 since starting in 1980.

The club spent more than $17,000 to assist area health care facilities during 2023. The year’s ending balance of $25,737.50 will be spent to cover other wishes from health care officials during 2024. The funds assist in purchasing added medical equipment for Faith Home, Trinity Hospital, Listerud Rural Health Clinic, NEMHS Emergency Medical Services and the Wolf Point Pharmacy.

“Our goal is not to keep money in the bank account, but to provide items that might not be able to be budgeted for,” Hanks said.

Club officers include James Johnson as vice president, Cathryn Wylie as recording secretary and Janece Houg as treasurer. Other directors include Dave Fyfe, Dennis Heser, Mary Hoversland, Leni Loendorf, Dan Moudree, Thomas Olsen, James Patch and Kiyo Ruhd.

Hanks noted that a few long-time directors are interested in stepping down and hopes that other community members are interested in becoming board members.

Some of the larger items planned to be purchased in 2024 include a Ferno stairchair for Wolf Point EMS, a LED phototherapy system for Trinity nursing, a Rip-R-Stripper for floors and a BinderLift patient lifting device for Wolf Point EMS.

The meeting included Dr. Michael Welch as the guest speaker. Welch started practicing in Wolf Point last July.

His prior experience has included completing his residency in eastern Colorado and then practicing in northern Maine.

Welch found the position in Wolf Point interesting because of the variety offered. He can provide primary care, emergency care and also deliver babies, which he says is the best part of his duties.

The club announces that a Leap Year Variety Show will take place on Sunday, March 3, at the Wolf Point Elks Event Center. The family- friendly event will feature light snacks and soft drinks.

If interested in being a participant of the show, call Hanks at 406-9800677 or Cathryn Wylie at 406-6507171.
