Lions Beat Frazer, Dodson At Tourney
Lustre Christian’s girls’ basketball team qualified for the divisional tournament in a big way as the Lions crushed Dodson, 61-19, at the Eastern C divisional tourney on Friday, Feb. 16.
The Lions jumped out to a 12-3 lead in the first quarter and increased the margin to 34-7 in the second quarter.
Lustre accounted for 16 points in the third quarter for a 50-11 advantage.
Leading Lustre’s attack were Alexa Reddig with 18, Aubri Holzrichter with 18 and Kencia Brown with 11 points.
Also scoring for the Lions were Abby Olfert with five, Jaden Gibson with three, Lauryn Holzrichter with three, Lauren Fast with two and Grace Brown with two points.
Amara Cochran scored seven points for Dodson.
Lustre enjoyed a good start and beat Frazer, 68-30, in the first round of the District 3C girls’ basketball tournament on Wednesday, Feb. 14.
The Lions jumped out to a 22-5 lead in the first quarter and held a 35-16 half-time advantage.
Lustre then struck for 18 points in the third quarter for a 53-20 margin.
Kencia Brown and Aubri Holzrichter led the Lions with 20 points each. Grace Brown finished with 14 points.
Also scoring for Lustre were Alexa Reddig with six, Lauryn Holzrichter with six and Abby Olfert with two points.
Leading Frazer’s attack were Maci Fourstar-Sibley with 14 and Angelina White with 10 points. Baily Beston scored six points.
