Summers, Hamilton Sign With DCC
Wolf Point’s cross country and track athletes Peyton Summers and Trent Hamilton signed letters of intent to attend Dawson Community College in Glendive last week.
Summers won the Class B state championship in cross country last fall.
Hamilton finished in 142nd place at the state cross country meet.
“I’m very excited to have both Trent and Payton join us,” Dawson Community College’s head coach Dempster Jackson said.
Each of them will also run for Dawson’s track squad.
Summers has also earned state placings for Wolf Point’s track programs.
Jackson is excited that Thomas Haskins of Williston, N.D., who finished second at North Dakota’s state meet, is also heading to compete for DCC.
“We will have both one of the top runners in Montana and one of the top runners in North Dakota,” Jackson said. “We will be national contenders.”
