Giese Appointed To State Board

Gov. Greg Gianforte announced last week the following board appointments: Medical Examiners

Dr. Camilla Juhl Petersen, Bonner: A general practitioner, Juhl Petersen has served in a variety of medical roles for nearly 20 years and runs her own practice. Her term will run through July 1, 2027.

Dr. Ashleigh Magill, Whitefish: Magill is the attending physician and medical director at Logan Whitefish Emergency Department. Magill was reappointed to a second term. Her term will run through July 1, 2027.

The board is charged with protecting the health, safety and well-being of Montana citizens through licensing and regulation.

Board appointments are made by the governor and confirmed by the Senate.

Statewide Independent Living Council Melanie Beagle, Butte: A vision rehabilitation therapist, Beagle most recently served as a certified rehabilitation counselor and supervisor at Montana Vocational Rehabilitation and Blind Services. Her term will run through Dec. 1, 2024.

Chris Johnsrud, Great Falls: An advocate for those with disabilities, Johnsrud is a graduate of Montana State University and has experience working in the private sector. His term will run through Dec. 1, 2024.

Heather Giese, Bainville: A Bainville Public School teacher, Giese is a mother and caregiver of a child with complex health issues. Her term will run through Dec. 1, 2026.

Nichole Lowrance, Billings: Lowrance serves as a supporting living program manager for Job Connection, Inc., which helps individuals with disabilities live their lives to the fullest. Her term will run through Dec. 1, 2026.

The council has a mission to “promote self-determination and full inclusion of people with disabilities in Montana.”
