Performances Set For April 11-12

Supporters of the Wolf Point drama department will have an original production to enjoy this spring.

Revenge, A Pirate Tail! written by Wolf Point teacher Jacob Boysun will be performed on Thursday, April 11, and Friday, April 12, starting at 7 p.m. in the high school’s auditorium.

Boysun, the play’s director, said the idea to write his own play occurred when he didn’t like the material of another pirate play that he was considering to have as the school’s spring performance.

He describes his play as kind of romantic with some action. There’s also a good mix of comedy.

Boysun said he worked on writing the play for most of last summer into September.

Del Eymard plays the character of Beardless Jack. Boysun said when he wrote the play, he had Eymard in mind for that character and then built the production around that idea.

Other main characters include Cole Boysun as Christian, Elliauna Ryan as Anne, Quiarrah Rios as Mary, Chase Adams as Winston and Ryan Schumacher as Yar.

David Hopson is the play’s assistant director.

In the play, Christian’s fiancee runs aways and meets up with a “big, bad pirate.” Later, Winston and Yar bring Christian onto Anne’s ship.

Boysun is pleased with the turnout of 18 students to participate in the production.

“I’m really happy,” Boysun said. “The drama program has been building well, which is nice.”

Admission costs are $8 for adults and $5 for students. Children under the age of 6 are admitted free. All proceeds benefit the school’s drama department.
